I was in charge of a demonstration of Chanoyu and a lecture on the theme of Chanoyu and pottery at a tourism promotion event for the media organized by JNTO(Official Tourism Guide for Japan Travel).
About 30 Western media attended the event, including the New York Times, BBC, and Washington Post.
The lecture focused on the Rokkoyo(Japanese Six Ancient Kilns), which have been in existence in Japan for more than 1,000 years, and explained the relationship between the tea ritual and a sense of beauty found in simplicity, as well as the fascination of the aging process.
The event was covered by the BBC
